Aram Hakobyan and Shant Sargsyan to participate in “World’s Youth Stars” international chess tournament
The opening ceremony of “World’s Youth Stars” international chess tournament will be held today in Kirishi, Russia. The tournament is the first leg of European Youth Grand Prix. The tournament is scheduled to take place from May 16th to May 28th 2017. The second leg will be held in Jermuk, Armenia in October 2017. The final stage will be held in Kirishi in May, 2018. In “World’s Youth Stars” tournament Armenia is represented by IMs Aram Hakobyan (2449) and Shant Sargsyan (2409). The other participants of the tournament are IMs Shevchenko Kirill (2491) of Ukraine, Nikitenko Mihail (2408) of Belarus and Pultinevicius Paulius (2395) of Lithuania, FMs Kaasen Tor Fredrik (2402) of Norway, Giannoulakis Lampros (2330) of Greece, Zarubitski Viachaslau (2325) of Belarus, Shubin Kirill (2287) of Russia and Kacharava Nikolozi (2180) of Greece. Young players Lobanov Sergei (2429) and Shсhetkin Kirill (1594) both representing Russia will participate in the tournament as well.
