The Armenian Youth and Girls Chess Championship has concluded

On April 20, the closing ceremony of the 2026 Armenian Youth and Girls Chess Championship, organized by the Armenian Chess Federation, took place at the Chess Academy of Armenia.

Among those present at the closing ceremony were the Vice President of the Armenian Chess Federation, Founder and President of the Chess Academy of Armenia, GM Smbat Lputian; Executive Director of the Armenian Chess Federation Armen Gevorgyan; as well as a member of the Armenian Chess Federation Council, Chair of the Women's Commission, member of the Armenian Women's National Chess Team, GM Elina Danielian.

The participants who placed 1st and 2nd in each category earned qualification spots for the World and European Youth and Girls Chess Championships, respectively.

Certificates of appreciation were awarded to coaches Artur Chibukhchian, Gagik Stepanyan, Tigran Azaryan, and Sargis Manukyan for ensuring broad participation, continuously supporting the development of young chess players, and for their dedicated and responsible coaching work.

A certificate of appreciation was also presented to Vahram Mezhlumyan, Chair of the Qualification and Rating Commission, for his dedication, high responsibility, and significant contribution to the development of chess.
