The International Chess Festival "Batumi Municipality Cup 2026" has come to an end

Armenian chess players had a successful performance at the International Chess Festival "Batumi Municipality Cup 2026" held in Batumi, Georgia.

In Group A, GM Hovik Hayrapetyan scored 5.5 points out of 9 and finished in 6th place.

In Group B, CM Artyom Manukyan became the winner with 8 points. In the same group, Sargis Niazyan finished in 3rd place, while Hakob Hakobyan took 4th place.

In Group B, Ashot Ayvazyan took 1st place in the U14 category, while Gor Dabagyan finished 2nd.

In Group B, Nelli Dzhalalian took 1st place in the U16 Girls category.

In Group B, Ashot Avetisyan finished 2nd in the 65+ Seniors category, while Azat Tavakalyan took 3rd place in the 50+ Seniors category.

In Group C, Robert Grigoryan became the winner with 7.5 points. In the same group, Davit Sukiasyan finished 2nd, and Hayk Babayan took 3rd place.

In Group C, 9-year-old Robert Pashikyan took 1st place in the U16 category, while 11-year-old Aren Baghdasaryan took 1st place in the U14 category

In Group C, Meri Tadevosyan took 1st place in the Women category, while Agnessa Sargsyan finished 2nd.

In the Open U12 tournament, Marat Atabekyan finished 3rd.

In the Girls U12 tournament, Ariana Chilingaryan became the winner, while Ariana Azizbekyants finished 2nd.

In the Open U10 tournament, Gevorg Geghamyan became the winner. In the same tournament, Tigran Aghanikyan finished 2nd, Stepan Simonyan took 3rd place, and Samvel Petrosyan finished 5th.

In the Girls U10 tournament, Eva Adamyan finished 2nd.

In the Open U8 tournament, Davit Mitinyan became the winner, while Aram Beglaryan finished 2nd.

In the Girls U8 tournament, Sonia Makaryan finished 3rd, Stella Barseghyan took 4th place, and Natali Baghdasaryan finished 5th.

In the blitz tournament, IM Aleks Sahakyan finished in 5th place. In the U16 category, CM Volodya Torosyan secured 3rd place, while 9-year-old Gevorg Geghamyan finished in 3rd place in the U14 category.
