Levon Aronian took first place in the rapid tournament

From July 12 to 23, the "Biel Chess Festival 2026" round-robin tournament is being held in Biel, Switzerland.

The "Masters" group features 6 grandmasters, including Armenian-American GM Levon Aronian.

The participants of the tournament are:

The participants will compete in rapid, classical, and blitz chess formats, and the winner will be determined by the combined results of the three tournaments.

The rapid chess tournament was held on July 12, with Levon Aronian taking first place.
