The final stage of the 20th Anniversary Armenian School Chess Olympiad has begun

14 of the best school teams from different regions of Armenia and Yerevan have started their chess battle in Kapan, the regional center of Syunik Province.

On September 10, the opening ceremony of the Olympiad took place at the Kapan Cultural Center. The ceremony was attended by Gor Tadevosyan, First Deputy Head of the Kapan Community, and GM Smbat Lputian, Vice-President of the Armenian Chess Federation, Founder and Director General of the Chess Academy of Armenia.

During the opening ceremony, the participating teams drew lots to determine their starting numbers, officially marking the beginning of the tournament.

For 20 years, the Olympiad has been organized by the Chess Academy of Armenia, with the Armenian General Benevolent Union as its principal sponsor and with the support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
