Gabriel Sargissian is the second-most decorated player in Chess Olympiads

Armenian national team member GM Gabriel Sargissian is the second-most decorated chess player in terms of medals won at the Chess Olympiads.

Sargissian trails only Ukraine’s GM Vasyl Ivanchuk, who has won medals at the Olympiad eight times.

Sargissian has been crowned champion three times, won one silver medal and two bronze medals.

In third place, with five medals, is GM Levon Aronian, who will compete at the Olympiad as a member of the United States team.
