Newly elected FIDE President Timur Turlov will visit Armenia

Armenia will be the destination for the first official visit of newly elected FIDE President Timur Turlov.

Tomorrow, September 29, the European stage of the FIDE ISCF World Schools Team Championship 2026 will kick off in Tsaghkadzor.

FIDE President and President of the International School Chess Federation Timur Turlov will also address the opening ceremony.

On September 29, Timur Turlov will also meet with the entire staff of the "Chess" Research Institute operating under the Armenian State Pedagogical University. The meeting will focus on important issues related to the development of chess, educational programs, and international cooperation.
