International Conference "Theory and Practice of Chess Education"

From October 1 to 2, the international conference "Theory and Practice of Chess Education" is taking place in Tsaghkadzor, bringing together educational researchers, university lecturers, chess teachers and coaches, educational programme specialists, and representatives of educational institutions to discuss the educational potential of chess and modern approaches to teaching.

The conference was officially opened by Lilit Mkrtchyan, Acting Rector of the Armenian State Pedagogical University named after Khachatur Abovyan; Smbat Lputian, First Vice President of the Armenian Chess Federation, Director of the Chess Research Institute, and Founder and Director of the Chess Academy of Armenia; and Andrey Vodianov, Chief Technical Officer of the International School Chess Federation.

On the second day of the conference, October 2, Zurab Azmaiparashvili, President of the European Chess Union, also addressed the participants.

As part of the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Armenian State Pedagogical University named after Khachatur Abovyan and the International School Chess Federation, aimed at strengthening educational and scientific collaboration between the two institutions.
