Mariam Mkrtchyan is among the prize winners in the FIDE Women's World Blitz Chess Championship 2023

The FIDE Women's World Blitz Chess Championship 2023 has come to an end.

118 chess players from 30 countries participated in the championship.

GM Valentina Gunina became the champion. Valentina scored 14 points out of 17.

Armenian chess player WIM Mariam Mkrtchyan is also among the prize winners. Mariam scored 10.5 points and took the 15th place.

Within the framework of the championship, Mariam beat the 14th world champion Anna Ushenina and drew with the current world champion Ju Wenjun.

GM Elina Danielian scored 9 points. In the 11th round, Elina beat the current world champion Ju Wenjun.

WIM Susanna Gaboyan scored 8.5 points. In the 2nd round, Susanna beat the 9th world champion Zhu Chen.

Mariam and Susanna also significantly improved their blitz ratings.
