Armenian chess players are among the leaders in the "Nana Aleksandria Cup-2023" tournament
The "Nana Aleksandria Cup-2023" international chess tournament is being held in Poti, Georgia from July 12 to 20.
111 chess players from Armenia are participating in the tournament.
The tournament is held in different groups:
A Open - ELO higher than 1801
B Open - ELO lower than 2000
C Open - ELO lower than 1700
D Open - ELO lower than 1400
E Open - Only unrated players
In the Open A, Hovik Hayrapetyan and Gagik Navoyan, who scored 4 points out of 5, are in the 2nd and 3rd places, respectively. At the moment, 14-year-old Gagik improves his rating by 143 points.
In the Open B, the sole leader is 11-year-old Tyhran Ambartsumian, who won all 5 games.
In the Open C, among the leaders is Robert Mkrtumyan, who scored 4 points.
In the Open E, the sole leader is Arame Ghazaryan, who won all 5 games.
In the U10 tournament, Sergey Yenokyan won all 5 games and is in the 1st place now.
In the U8 tournament, Armen Vardanyan won all 5 games and is in the 1st place now.
