Today the eight-time Armenian champion Ashot Anastasian would have turned 60 years old.

The Armenian Chess Federation always remembers with great admiration and respect GM Ashot Anastasian, a participant of six Chess Olympiads, the winner of many international tournaments, who played an invaluable role in the development of the chess in Armenia.

Ashot Anastasian passed away on December 26, 2016 at the age of 52.
