Ashot Nadanian and Andranik Abrahamyan became the Armenian Senior Chess Champions
The Armenian Senior Chess Championship 2024 is concluded.
This year the championship was held in separate 50+ and 65+ age groups.
In the 50+ age group, the champion became IM Ashot Nadanian, who scored 5.5 points out of 7.
The vice-champion, with tie-breaks, became Laert Margaryan, who also scored 5.5 points.
Mamikon Martirosyan and Karen Makaryan scored 4.5 points and shared the 3rd-4th places.
With tie-breaks, Mamikon Martirosyan finished in the top three.
In the 65+ age group, the champion became Andranik Abrahamyan, who scored 7.5 points out of 9.
The vice-champion became FM Roman Akopov, who scored 7 points.
Garegin Alekyan, who scored 6.5 points, finished in the top three.
Stepan Balayan, who showed the best result in the 80+ age group, also received a special prize.
