
Four Armenian chess players qualified for the FIDE World Cup
Armenian chess players GM Gabriel Sargissian, GM Robert Hovhannisyan, GM Shant Sargsyan and GM Haik Martirosyan qualified for the FIDE World Cup based on the results of the European Individual Chess Championship.
Gabriel scored 8 points out of 11 and took 7th place. Robert, Shant and Haik took 17th, 18th and 21st places, respectively, with 7.5 points.
The champion became German GM Matthias Bluebaum, who scored 8.5 points. Matthias became the first chess player to become the European Individual Chess Champion for the second time.
