Women's World Chess Championship 2025

The Women's World Chess Championship 2025 will take place in China from April 3 to 21.

The championship will be held between the current world champion, GM Ju Wenjun, and the winner of the Candidates Tournament, GM Tan Zhongyi, both from China.

The player who scores 6.5 points or more wins the Match.

In case of a tie after 12 rounds, the Champion would be determined in a rapid playoff.

All the games start at 15:00 local time, and there is a rest day after every two rounds.

The players cannot draw a game by agreement before black’s 40th move. A claim for a draw before black’s 40th move is permitted only in cases of a draw by threefold repetition or a stalemate.
