Levon Aronian is the sole leader

After the first day of play at the "Grand Chess Tour: Saint Louis Rapid & Blitz 2025" in Saint Louis, GM Levon Aronian is the sole leader with a perfect score.

Aronian made a brilliant start, winning all three of his games.

In the first round, he defeated reigning World Champion Gukesh Dommaraju, then beat Maxime Vachier-Lagrave in the second, and Nodirbek Abdusattorov in the third.
