In Round 8 of the 2025 FIDE Grand Swiss, GM Shant Sargsyan drew against 2771-rated GM Arjun Erigaisi.

Shant now has 5 points out of 8 and will face the 2023 FIDE Grand Swiss winner, GM Vidit Santosh Gujrathi, in the next round.

GM Aram Hakobyan defeated GM Sam Shankland and has 4.5 points.

GM Robert Hovhannisyan has 3.5 points and will face the reigning World Champion, GM Gukesh D, in the next round.

GM Gabriel Sargissian has 3 points, while GM Haik Martirosyan has 2.5 points.

In the Women's Grand Swiss, GM Elina Danielian has 4.5 points, while IM Lilit Mkrtchian has 4 points.

The 9th round will start on September 13 at 14:00 Armenian time.
