Sargis Sargissyan has been named the Best Athlete with a Disability of the Year

Armenian chess player FM Sargis Sargissyan has been named the Best Athlete with a Disability of the Year.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia organized the "Best of the Year in Sports" competition. The winners were determined by the results of the voting of sports journalists.

This year, Sargis Sargissyan became the champion of the World IPCA Individual Chess Championship. He had previously won the same championship in 2021.
