GM Haik Martirosyan and GM Elina Danielian claimed victories over the newly crowned World Blitz Chess Champions

The 2025 FIDE World Blitz Chess Championship has concluded in Doha, Qatar.

The Open section featured 252 players from 64 countries, including 166 grandmasters.

GM Magnus Carlsen became World Blitz Champion.

Armenian GM Aram Hakobyan and GM Haik Martirosyan are among the prize winners.

GM Aram Hakobyan scored 12.5 points out of 19 and shared 10th-19th places, finishing 18th on tie-breaks.

GM Haik Martirosyan scored 12 points and shared 20th-39th places, finishing 26th on tie-breaks.

During the championship, Haik defeated the newly crowned World Blitz Champion Magnus Carlsen.

The Women's Championship featured 140 players from 42 countries, including 23 grandmasters and 32 international masters.

GM Bibisara Assaubayeva became Women's World Blitz Champion.

Among the Armenian players, the best result was achieved by GM Elina Danielian, who scored 8.5 points out of 15.

During the championship, Elina defeated the newly crowned Women's World Blitz Champion Bibisara Assaubayeva.
