Armenian chess players are among the leaders

The international chess tournament "Aeroflot Open 2026" concluded in Moscow, Russia.

Russian GM Ian Nepomniachtchi claimed first place with 7.5 points out of 9.

Armenian GM Haik Martirosyan and GM Aram Hakobyan finished among the prize winners, scoring 6.5 points and placing 4th and 13th, respectively.

GM David Paravyan and GM Rudik Makarian, representing FIDE, also scored 6.5 points, taking 2nd and 3rd places.

Armenian FM Mikayel Manvelyan scored 5.5 points and showed the best result among players rated 2300-2399.
