The Chess Academy of Armenia hosted Akaki Iashvili
The Chess Academy of Armenia officially hosted Akaki Iashvili, President of the Georgian Chess Federation, Chair of the FIDE - International Chess Federation Events Commission, and Director for Special Tasks of the Management Board, during an official visit.
Together with Smbat Lputian — Founder and Director of the Chess Academy of Armenia, Director of the "Chess" Research Institute, First Vice President of the Armenian Chess Federation, and Grandmaster — he met with representatives of leading institutions involved in chess education and became acquainted with the "Chess in School" program, emphasizing Armenia’s leading role and the importance of international cooperation.
They also visited the Armenian State Pedagogical University, where the university’s activities and the "Chess" specialty were presented, as well as the world-unique "Chess" Research Institute.
At the end of the visit, he went to a school, observed the program in action, and interacted with students and teachers, confirming that chess has become an important part of the educational process.
