Training Camp in Arzni

From May 16 to 22, a training camp was held in Arzni at the initiative and under the sponsorship of Aghasi Inants, a member of the Armenian Chess Federation Council. The camp brought together the first and second place finishers of the Armenian Youth Chess Championships aged 8 to 18.

The coaching staff featured a strong and highly experienced lineup led by GM Gabriel Sargissian, a member of the Armenian national team, and three time Chess Olympiad champion.

The daily intensive training sessions were conducted by GM Aram Hakobyan, GM Hovik Hayrapetyan, FIDE Senior Trainer Manvel Avetisyan, as well as FIDE trainers Vahagn Khachatryan and Sargis Manukyan.

The camp also welcomed distinguished guests including GM Arman Pashikian, head coach of the Armenian men’s national team and FIDE Senior Trainer; GM Artashes Minasian, head coach of the Armenian youth national team; leading Armenian GM Shant Sargsyan; long time leader of the Armenian women’s national team GM Elina Danielian; and multiple time Armenian youth champion, renowned coach, FIDE trainer, GM Tigran Harutyunyan.

As part of the camp, a blitz tournament was also held with prizes awarded to the top five players. The winner of the event was FM Tyhran Ambartsumian.

Such training camps are highly motivating for young chess players and are expected to have a positive impact on their performance in upcoming international tournaments.
