The Stepan Avagyan Memorial Youth Chess Tournament has started

On May 27, the Stepan Avagyan Memorial Youth Chess Tournament, organized by the Chess Academy of Armenia, officially began, bringing together more than 460 young chess players this year.

During the opening ceremony, the participants were welcomed by the founder and Executive Director of the Chess Academy of Armenia, GM Smbat Lputian, as well as the Chief Arbiter of the tournament IA Gevorg Muradyan, who presented the tournament regulations, emphasized the importance of such events in the development of young chess players, and wished all participants successful games and exciting competition.

As part of the opening ceremony, participants and guests also watched a film dedicated to the memory of Stepan Avagyan, once again highlighting his contribution to the development of Armenian chess.
