Armenian chess players are among the leaders

The 8th round of the World Junior U20 Chess Championship 2024 has ended.

In the Open section, Armenian chess players GM Mamikon Gharibyan and IM Rudik Makarian have 6.5 points and share the first place with IM Nogerbek Kazybek and GM Cardoso Cardoso Jose Gabriel. 

In the Girls section, WIM Mariam Mkrtchyan has 6.5 points and is half a point behind the sole leader IM Divya Deshmukh.

There are 3 decisive rounds left before the end of the championship.

The 9th round will start tomorrow at 13:30 Armenian time.
