Armenian representatives won 2 silver medals

The World Junior U20 Chess Championship ended in Gandhinagar, India.

2 of the 6 medal winners are our Armenian chess players.

The championship was held in 11 rounds.

Top three in the Open section:
1st place: IM Kazybek Nogerbek representing Kazakhstan - 8.5 points
2nd place: GM Emin Ohanyan representing Armenia - 8.5 points
3rd place: GM Luka Budisavljevic representing Serbia - 8 points

GM Mamikon Gharibyan also scored 8 points and took the 4th place with tie-breaks.

The top three in the Girls section:
1st place: IM Divya Deshmukh representing India - 10 points
2nd place: WIM Mariam Mkrtchyan representing Armenia - 9.5 points
3rd place: WIM Ayan Allahverdiyeva representing Azerbaijan - 8.5 points
