Today is International Chess Day

100 years ago on this day the FIDE was founded, bringing together all the world's federations under one roof.

July 20 is celebrated as the International Chess Day.

On the occasion of this special day, FIDE has challenged all federations to organize as many games as possible today and to declare this day as a day with a record number of chess played in the world.

Armenia has not been left out of this idea either, because the 23rd Individual World Chess Championship for People with Physical Disabilities, currently taking place in Gyumri, is a participant in this challenge.

The Armenian Chess Federation happily and proudly congratulates all chess players and chess lovers on this day and calls on everyone to continue spreading the beauty and values ​​of this brilliant game, which has been an integral part of human thought and creativity for centuries.
