The 19th School Chess Olympiad has concluded

The final stage of the 19th Armenian School Chess Olympiad was held at the Dilijan International School. The event was organized by the Chess Academy of Armenia and Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.

The following teams took prize places:
1st place – Yerevan School No. 77
2nd place – Vanadzor School No. 4
3rd place – Abovyan School No. 10

The following chess players showed the best results on their boards:
Board 1 – Albert Aghazaryan (Yerevan School No. 161)
Board 2 – Ashot Avetisyan (Yerevan School No. 77)
Board 3 – Gagik Ananyan (Vanadzor School No. 4)
Board 4 – Viktoria Sharajyan (Abovyan School No. 10)

The awards were presented by Adam Armanski, Director of UWC Dilijan; Andre Voegtlin, Chair of the FIDE Social Commission and President of the Swiss Chess Federation; and Smbat Lputian, Founder and Director of the Chess Academy of Armenia.

The main sponsor of the olympiad is the Armenian General Benevolent Union.
