Serzh Sargsyan visited the Chess Academy of Armenia

On January 14, the third President of the Republic of Armenia and the President of the Armenian Chess Federation, Serzh Sargsyan, visited the Chess Academy of Armenia to follow the ongoing 16th Andranik Margaryan Memorial Tournament.

Also present were founder and president of the Chess Academy of Armenia, GM Smbat Lputian, Executive Director of the Armenian Chess Federation, Armen Gevorgyan, and Federation Council members Taron Margaryan and Aghasi Inants.

During the visit, they first observed the Swiss tournament games, which this year feature 630 chess players from Yerevan and the regions, and then Round Robin tournament, where chess players from Armenia, Russia, Georgia, India, and Moldova competed for IM and GM norms.
