We summarize the achievements of our Armenian chess players during the year 2023

From January 30 to February 4, the Chess Olympiad for People with Disabilities was held in Serbia, where Sargis Sargissyan became the vice-champion.

From June 6 to 8, the World Youth Rapid Chess Championship was held in Georgia, where Robert Piliposyan became the champion in the U16 category, and Tyhran Ambartsumian became the bronze medalist in the U12 category.

From June 10 to 11, the World Youth Blitz Chess Championship was held in Georgia, where Aleks Sahakyan became the bronze medalist in the U18 category, Robert Piliposyan became the bronze medalist in the U16 category, and Benik Agasarov became the bronze medalist in the U14 category.

From June 13 to 21, the World Chess Championship for People with Disabilities was held in Serbia, where Sargis Sargissyan became the bronze medalist.

On June 19, the European Pairs Blitz Chess Championship was held in Poland, where the Armenian team represented by Shant Sargsyan and Elina Danielian won the gold medal.

From June 24 to 30, the European Youth Team Chess Championship was held in Romania, where the Armenian team won the bronze medal.

From September 5 to 14, the European Youth Chess Championship was held in Romania, where Arsen Davtyan became the champion in the U18 category, and Benik Agasarov became the vice-champion in the U14 category.

On October 27, within the framework of the World Senior Chess Championship, was held a Blitz Chess Tournament, where Artashes Minasian became the silver medalist, and Ashot Nadanian became the bronze medalist.

From November 11 to 20, the European Team Chess Championship was held in Montenegro, where the Armenian team became the bronze medalist.

From December 14 to 15, the European Rapid Chess Championship was held in Croatia, where Haik Martirosyan became the vice-champion.

In 2023, Haik Martirosyan crossed 2700 Elo.

Mamikon Gharibyan and Emin Ohanyan became GM, and Arsen Davtyan became an IM.
